Každý překlad musí projít korekturou - stylovou i gramatickou. Korektor by měl skvěle ovládat především cílový jazyk!
Stáhněte si z capsy anglický originál v pdf a porovnejte ho s překladem. Do jaké míry se vaše představy o anglické verzi shodují s originálem?
V jaké jazykové oblasti nakládá překladatelka s originálem nejvolněji? (slovní zásoba - syntax - celkové vyznění textu...)
Text k analýze:
His image stood sharp and clear in my mind: a stocky, grey-haired
man with bright blue eyes and a fizzing vitality that flowed from
him in sparks of static electricity in cold weather.
He disconnected immediately, letting me ask no questions: and I
thought of the last time I'd seen him, when I'd tried to dissuade
him from marrying Moira, describing her progressively, in face of
his implacable purpose, as a bad misjudgement on his part and as a
skilful, untruthful manipulator and, finally, as a rapacious bloodsucking tramp.

Vědeckofantastická literatura - Arthur C. Clarke

"Politici by měli číst science-fiction, ne detektivky a westerny." (Arthur C. Clarke)

Clarke – 2001: A Space Odyssey
The sixth member of the crew cared for none of these things, for it was not human. It was the
highly advanced HAL 9000 computer, the brain and nervous system of the ship.
Hal (for Heuristically programmed ALgorithmic computer, no less) was a masterwork of the
third computer breakthrough. These seemed to occur at intervals of twenty years, and the thought that another one was now imminent already worried a great many people.
The first had been in the 1940s, when the long-obsolete vacuum tube had made possible such
clumsy, high-speed morons as ENIAC and its successors. Then, in the 1960s, solid-state
microelectronics had been perfected. With its advent, it was clear that artificial intelligences at least as powerful as Man's need be no larger than office desks - if one only knew how to construct them.
Probably no one would ever know this; it did not matter. In the 1980s, Minsky and Good had
shown how neural networks could be generated automatically - self replicated - in accordance with any arbitrary learning program. Artificial brains could be grown by a process strikingly analogous to the development of a human brain. In any given case, the precise details would never be known, and even if they were, they would be millions of times too complex for human understanding. Whatever way it worked, the final result was a machine intelligence that could reproduce – some philosophers still preferred to use the word "mimic" - most of the activities of the human brain - and with far greater speed and reliability. It was extremely expensive, and only a few units of the HAL9000 series had yet been built; but the old jest that it would always be easier to make organic brains by unskilled labor was beginning to sound a little hollow.
Hal had been trained for this mission as thoroughly as his human colleagues - and at many times their rate of input, for in addition to his intrinsic speed, he never slept. His prime task was to monitor the life-support systems, continually checking oxygen pressure, temperature, hull leakage, radiation, and all the other interlocking factors upon which the lives of the fragile human cargo depended. He could carry out the intricate navigational corrections, and execute the necessary flight maneuvers when it was time to change course. And he could watch over the hibernators, making any necessary adjustments to their environment and doling out the minute quantities of intravenous fluids that kept them alive.

AUTHOR'S NOTE
I do not suppose that there is a more harmless and law-abiding set of people in the world than the Advertising Experts of Great Britain. The idea that any crime could possibly be perpetrated on advertising premises is one that could only occur to the ill-regulated fancy of a detective novelist, trained to fasten the guilt upon the Most Unlikely Person. If, in the course of this fantasy, I have unintentionally used a name or slogan suggestive of any existing person, firm or commodity, it is by sheer accident, and is not intended to cast the slightest reflection upon any actual commodity, firm or person.
EPILOGUE
Tell England. Tell the world. Eat more Oats. Take Care of your Complexion. No More War. Shine your Shoes with Shino. Ask your Grocer. Children Love Laxarnalt. Prepare to meet thy God. Bung's Beer is Better. Try Dogsbody's Sausages. Whoosh the Dust Away. Give them Crunchlets. Snagsbury's Soups are Best for the Troops. Morning Star, best Paper by Far. Vote for Punkin and Protect your Profits. Stop that Sneeze with Snuffo. Flush your Kidneys with Fizzlets. Flush your Drains with Sanfect. Wear Wool-fleece next to,the Skin. Popp's Pills Pep you Up, Whiffle you Way to Fortune....

To be or not to be... Shakespeare's Hamlet

Sonet 66
Tired with all these, for restful death I cry:
As to behold desert a beggar born,
And needy nothing trimmed in jollity,
And purest faith unhappily forsworn,
And gilded honour shamefully misplaced,
And maiden virtue rudely strumpeted,
And right perfection wrongfully disgraced,
And strength by limping sway disabled,
And art made tongue-tied by authority,
And folly, doctor-like, controlling skill,
And simple truth miscalled simplicity,
And captive good attending captain ill.
Tired with all these, from these would I be gone,
Save that to die, I leave my love alone.
